I understand how the parents felt, but not to let your family know you were going on a cruise isn’t very smart. What if something happened? What if they are attacked by pirates? Or got lost in the Bermuda Triangle?
My sis and I have always told each other where and when we were going. Not only that, we usually call when we get where we were going, and call when we start back.
My parents had a habit of disappearing without telling anyone where they were going. Their other trick was to give a general itinerary, then deviate wildly from it. Sometimes they’d leave the country, but nobody knew where or for how long. Never really bothered me, but it drove my siblings crazy.

Why does Opal dress like my grandmother did when I was a kid? I’m going on 70 and neither my wife or friends dress as Opal does.
