I remember a similar situation. Dawn (yes, a girl) was trying to coach me in batting one morning. She whizzed a softball at me and for once in my life I actually hit it. Now we were playing in the middle of a street and no one had come by while we were there – up until my pop fly started to arc downward and connected with a windshield of a truck which had just come around the corner. It was one of those old Fords with a ‘smiling’ front end. I took off running home but the guy came over and talked to my mother while I stood there with bat in hand in case I needed a weapon. I never ever hit one like that again. I may never have hit one, period. My dad wasn’t too impressed that he had to pay for a new windshield. I don’t know where Dawn is now but she was on the girls’ softball team in school and one of the best players.
Love this one! I picture the sound of the window smashing incorporating the crash sound effect from here (due to that "tinkle ding shatter clink)… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lpbq_5mpEVw
Good job, Calvin! Now, scurry to your room and pack those striped shirts and shorts in a suitcase. You and Hobbes have to go on the lam for awhile. Don’t forget the tuna sandwiches.

The same happened to me when I was 14 playing tennis, and I did all by myself.

But it doesn’t show that he’s standing two feet from the window.

Aim to shatter records – not windows, Calvin…(oh no, there goes Dad’s vinyl collection)! :D
Who, me? over 3 years ago
His stroke was so powerful it bent the bat. The window could have been a block away.

True. I didn’t expect Calvin to be able to hit a ball.

I wonder if that’s a talent for baseball or a knack for mayhem? Either way, good shot.

I’m betting that wow, first try refers to the window, not hitting the ball.

Let’s not think the worst of him – looking at his previous attempts, he’s probably just happy he managed to connect bat with ball.
