    When I and my team got laid off despite being heavily involved in projects that were still funded and on target, all we got was blamed for those projects stalling and failing…

    I would call a general meeting of all the employees, and tell them the news in general, and then host a brain storming event to start a new company (or two), and THEN privately tell those who were fired that they are on the list. Those who did not want to go would probably find vacancies from those who chose to join the newly forming company.

    Something’s not right here. Bernie would wait until the project’s finished and then do the layoff. And Mike wouldn’t be going person to person, the coder’s manager would tell him to go to HR, they want to talk to him. As soon as he leaves his desk, his manager revokes his login.
