What about The Guess Whom?

“Whom are you? Whom-whom? Whom-whom? … I really wanna know…”

I just think of CSI.

The They?

Somewhere, somewhen there must have been a garage band that called themselves “The Whom”. Not that anyone would have ever heard of then outside of the neighborhood.

I think Mr. Daltry and Pete had other things in mind back then.

“People try to put us down…”

The Caterpillar asked “Who are you?” Pete: “Who are we?”

Caterpillar: “Yes, Who are you?” John: “Okay then. ‘Who’ are we.”

Keith: “But not just any old who – ‘The Who’.”

Roger: “Shouldn’t that be ‘The Whom’?”

Ok, how about plan B, The What?

The Watt?

And that same year, Van Morrison formed “Them,” the grammatically correct band.

Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) could have been called the Watts !

I say we go to the experts, Bud and Lou.

They won’t get fooled again.

There was a great band in the 80s called The The….so, kinda close.

Both have a nicer ring than “The Ours.”

Not any more you can’t; well, you can, but it wouldn’t be P.C.

Did they live in Whoville?

In an different tardis, Dr Whom travels through space and time correcting people’s grammar.

The real rule is that you use “they” and “them” for groups of people, not single individuals.

See what happens when you change pronouns?

Yeah, never start your career as the end of a prepositional phrase.

Wasn’t there a band named, “Them”?

Was Van Morrison a part of Them?

Mr. Hilburn knows his Rock history, Them was Van Morrison’s first band.

I think them did OK. Who?

Dashiell Hammet had a story titled “The Whosis Kid.” Does that help?

What about, “The Grammar Police”..

Them, the Northern Ireland band that Van Morrison was in. I wonder if Them ever played with the Who. Yes? Guess Who? Or jammed with the Jam? Were any of them playing with the band The Band? Or if they scheduled time in their busy schedules to play Time Waits For No One with Tom Waits?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Guess Whom? “American Woman”!

We actually cannot resolve the issue of The Who versus The Whom because we lack A Verb. Without that third band, we can’t tell object case from subject case.

Besides, Van Morrison already has a band called “The Whom”.

Gonna start a band The Whom!

Okay, it’s still a bit early in the year, but I think we may have found the best comic for 2021!!!

I still fond it repulsive to see Gods name used in vain even though it has become the norm because many people don’t care.
