That is a rather inclusive list of duties!

If stable employment is all you care about, this is the job for you.

Being a stable boy looks better than being inside a school.

I got my education and the only job I could find for the first year was shoveling horse poop. Graduating into a recession really sucked.

About the only thing in ID that’s stable is the stables…

That sounds like my second job…and I don’t work at a stable!

PLOT TWIST: he is in school. This is his first job to pay for college.

Won’t work in today’s society. Unemployment is there if you don’t want to work. Also, what good is school now anyway, if you don’t want to learn a skill?….

Reminds me of the old joke about the guy who was a “pilot” on a farm. His boss would tell him to “pile it” over here, “pile it” over there, you know, a “pilot”.

To much poop, I’m moving on to the next duty.

Did anyone see “adult children” today??? About the only jobs you can get now even with a diploma aren’t much better than that!! … but there’s lots of them open!!… at least until you stop getting more money from the government for NOT working because of COVID!!

Bucket list.

Staying in school is most useful when school is teaching and not indoctrinating. Beyond primary school, additional school does not need to be a college degree (especially if it’s liberal arts), but trade school, apprenticeships and other education can be even more valuable than a degree in ancient literature, community activism or gender studies. The world also still needs people to shovel the horse poop, hopefully on their way up to better jobs.

That’s how many of the great riders started out. Earning their rides.

Altho working for a big corporation is pretty similar to that.

Whatever it pays, it sure beats straight commission door-to-door sales—-oops—-I meant market research analysis. That’s what they called us when ‘selling’ encyclopedias. I would never take another sales job after that.

It’s a good job for picky people.

As it is, if it would pay my bills, I’d love to clean stalls all day.
