Well, Im early, which I rarely am unless for some reason I stay up really late, like today. But more to the point, well yesterday a lot of people were all saying things like “Never Forget” which I agree with, but if they say that they should not only be remembering the lives lost and first responders who sacrificed their lives, but also be remembering the context and effects of it, which most dont remember/know. (Would have said this yesterday but by the time I thought it out it was pretty late so there was no point to comment it)
Also wow, another comic with Chad talking about food at the end of a comic that had no need to have Chad there and it basically adds nothing and sorta makes it worse. Chad is way too overused
Oh, I get! It’s because Chad likes food and that’s all there is to his character! Such brilliant phenomenal comedic writing! There’s no way anyone else could have come up with something as genius as this!
Well, sadly the mods banned the rude duck guy, I hope at some point they just give up and stop banning anyone so people will actually have to realize that replying to these people is a terrible idea, even if they reply saying “ignore and report” or something like that
Alternative ending: Instead of Chad bringing up food, Nate would have the ball (the ‘comic book’), but Francis views the ball as his cat. The end result is them tugging at the ball vigorously for their ‘comic book’ and ‘cat’ until a referee steps in
All jokes aside, I think Chad in this strip shows how watered-down the characters have gotten. For example, Nate is the egotistical jerk who sucks at sports, Chad is the fat kid who makes potty jokes, and Francis is the nerd. Back in the day, Nate had a passion for cartooning, painting, and even chess and made a band. This made him feel more human, rather than a way to make stale jokes. Francis was clearly shown as Nate’s friend, and supported Nate despite their differences, which made him less annoying. I get this is a children’s strip, but comics like Peanuts have shown that strips made for kids can have interesting characters. For example, Lucy can be the stereotypical bully, but her love for Schroeder and Rerun showed that she had a soft side, once again making her less like a stereotypical bully and more like a misguided child.
Also, for people saying that “why would Francis hit his cat with a bat”, look at the first panel. They are running and wearing cleats so their playing soccer not baseball

This reminds me of the strip where Coach John said he stole Nate’s Cheez Doodles as a motivation tactic and Nate slammed him on the floor.
