As Bill Murray once famously answered, “Who. Wants. FLIES??”

Actually that’s not necessarily true. Fruit flies are also known, in some precincts, as “vinegar flies.” Fruit warehouses have been known to put out large containers of vinegar to attract and capture fruit flies so they don’t get to the fruit.

Flies or not, this is definitely a boss to avoid.

Sounds like he’d rather just call in a S.W.A.T. team.

why would I want to catch flies?

In MN we’re noticing we seem to have a lot more flies this year. Maybe because of the drought.

You catch even more flies with manure.

This boss is proof that any organization is like a septic tank. The really big chunks rise to the top.

I had a boss like this. I was so mad at him one day that I told him the only thing keeping him alive was fear of prison.

Ergo the management /employee relationship is defined. Employees are necessary nuisances……

I still remember when Woody corrected Frasier on that: (paraphrased) Actually, Dr. Crane – that’s not true. A dead squirrel attracts more flies!

What am I supposed to do with the flies after I catch them?

Her choice of idioms could have been a little better.

There was a time, long ago, when I thought the plethora of flies in the South was due to so many people calling each other “Honey”. :)
