Actually that’s not necessarily true. Fruit flies are also known, in some precincts, as “vinegar flies.” Fruit warehouses have been known to put out large containers of vinegar to attract and capture fruit flies so they don’t get to the fruit.
Flies or not, this is definitely a boss to avoid.

why would I want to catch flies?
In MN we’re noticing we seem to have a lot more flies this year. Maybe because of the drought.

There was a time, long ago, when I thought the plethora of flies in the South was due to so many people calling each other “Honey”. :)
