About this time of year they often have all three on sale. Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

…and you’d better buy now, because there won’t be anything when Christmas rolls around…

I stopped at my local Big Lots to pick up some cleaning supplies. I noticed that there was no Halloween candy, but I could buy candy canes.

I just got back from the supermarket. Yeah, they have my Santa’s Favorites cookies which I always have to snatch up as soon as I see them. I just love the cookies, that’s all. They had the egg nog, to and one of them was dulce de leche flavor. I love that and have to get it right away, too.

Gotta keep those shelves full. As the Halloween stuff sold, the Christmas stuff moved in to take its place.

Even worse is the fact that, nowadays, they start offering Halloween decorations in August, and “Black Friday” is now a term that is used almost year ’round.

Christmas can overshadow Halloween. Black Friday can overshadow Thanksgiving.

    Scary…

I remember Sears having Christmas displays up on Labor Day, back in 1980.
