@TStyle78 is correct. In order to solve for âbâ, you need a real number on the other side of the equation. So far, âbâ is the only variable, so there is really nothing else to solve for.
The teacher donât knows maths. You doesnât gives an incomplete equation to solves. Maybe this is the new math they teaches at some places these days.

Without knowing the final answer; you could make âbâ anything you want. They should have included the answer at the end.
