Hah! Seeing as you live in the British Isles (don’t you?) I can well appreciate your desire for warmth in the winter!

Move to the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state & you won’t have summer heat to hate — It rarely gets warmer than the low 70s, but then, it also rarely gets below the mid 30s either at the lower altitudes. Compared to most parts of the country, the Peninsula only has two seasons — Spring & Fall with 15hrs of daylight in the late Spring/early Fall and 7hrs of daylight in late Fall/early Spring

When it’s -30C here, I long for the +30C. When it’s +30C, I don’t long for the -30C.

I’m in SoCal, so I’m surprised if we get frost.

We’re lucky if it gets “down” to around +15 Deg. C where I live…and then we have people complaining about the “cold”! :D

Aunty would love Oklahoma – it’s either too hot or too cold; too wet or too dry; too windy, etc:, etc., etc.!

You were supposed to save it up for use later.

’Tis easier to bundle up than to cool down.

Cloudy, becoming rain by Friday. Temps from 5 to 6 ºc down to 0ºc for the next week. Not quite cold enough for snow. But at least we will not be washed away like Abbotsford.

I want the four seasons!!! What fun is it if there is nothing to complain about?

Nothing like 20 or 30 minutes in a sauna to warm up properly.

Be careful with all those plugs in that extension! You don’t want to blow a circuit breaker or start a fire!

I don’t! I live in FL and it’s in the 70s now but this past summer, my electric bill got to $225 – and I live by myself! I had to basically shut off the AC, it got to 85-90 in the house and the electric company said it was “hot outside” (no S**T!) I’ve been in FL for 21 yrs and I know it gets hot and my bill has nearly doubled! and when I told them it was 85-90 in my house, they said “that’s too high!” and I said, I don’t have a choice! So they said it was basically my fault

This reminds me of something that happened in the early days of my Computer Support job. Our department would suddenly have these power outages, and it took a bit of time to figure out the cause. It was a space heater in this one gal’s office. When it kicked on, it tripped a circuit-breaker. I don’t remember what was done to allow her to use it without plunging the whole south end of our building into darkness…

She needs to get some of those minnow paws I keep hearing wimmin talking about. They’ll keep her warm.

Every year, as summer drags on, I find myself wondering if winter could really be any worse. The first day it gets cold, “Yes. Yes it is.”

I don’t care what anybody says. Around here 30F in the Fall is a lot colder than 30F in the Spring.

I have to agree with Aunty Acid on this one.

I have always disliked the Summer heat, but like many other people I suffer from Arthritis and I truly appreciate the temporary reduction in daily pain for a few months of blessed relief.

But you don’t miss hating.

I’ve been looking forward to the cooler temperatures since last spring.

If that’s wrong, then I don’t want to be right!

I’m just glad I made the choice to be Born in Florida.
