A colleague at work brought in an expensive saucepan that looked like that on the inside, asked if I knew how to clean it up easily. I work with some very aggressive chemicals, knew what to do (did it myself of course), cleaned it up so it looked like new. A few days later he came in with the saucepan looking like that again. He just wanted to show it to me, didn’t ask me to clean it again. He bought new but cheap saucepans instead.
Yes, that the same at our house hold. If it don’t go in the dishwasher out the window its goes, that my theory so I say! Our house has old dishes, bowels, silverware and a mishmash of crockery you would not believe. I guess that why I am still around after 41 years, to old and big to fit in the dishwasher!

He not only doesn’t expect her to cook, he doesn’t want her to cook.
He also doesn’t want to tell her how bad her cooking really is.

My wife has a favorite set of pots and pans. They can even go in the oven, but for some reason cannot go in the dishwasher.

Get better-looking saucepans; and you can cook badly with them.

It’s going according to plan, if she destroys all the pots and pans, no more cooking.
