Only thing more fierce than the tyrannosaurus is the mama tyrannosaurus.

I remember in the Tenth Anniversary Book, Bill said that the new custom Sunday format took three times as long to draw as a typical Sunday strip.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the reason they reran eighties strips back in the nineties when he first started to experiment with them, since he was too busy to draw new dailies at the time.

Calvin is more a caveboy than dinosaur.

You were quite the poet, Mr. Watterson.

I wonder how Calvin the Dinosaur will get along with Hobbes.

Mom, gives some time for the tyrannosaurus to come to terms with the present time.

It is believed that the terrifying Momosaurus carried Kleenex with them.

It wasn’t until the making of the movie JURASSIC PARK that scientists discovered how Tyrannisauri really carried themselves, as well as smashing other “facts” about dinos in general.

Still, nobody really knows why they became extinct.

It’s always amazing to me how serene his parents are at times. Sitting, reading. My mother never had time for that.

Well, there you go. A perfect second grade project for either writing class or science class, maybe even history class. (Yeah, it’s hard to do good monster noises without spitting)

If I had ever read this one before, I’d definitely remember it. Thanks, Mr. Watterson, for a new comic.

I’m not the only person to note this surely, but Calvin sounds a lot more articulate in his fantasies than elsewhere.

Pure Precambrian Poetry!

Species become extinct and new species are found, hope any new species found don’t think that humans taste like chicken….

Maybe when humans become extinct dinosaurs will return

This has been a favourite of mine for years. I remember when I was in fourth grade, we were tasked with finding poems and reading them out to the class. I read this one.

So brilliant. Like Shel Silverstein but with an even fancier vocabulary. I love it!

Little Tim and Howard look like two of the boys from the baseball arc, this must be Calvin taking his angry on them for what they said to him.

This is in 8 6 8 6 rhythm, which means it can be sung to tunes as diverse as “Amazing Grace” and “The Yellow Rose of Texas.”
