Offered Kris his old pay rate? That’s why employers are having a hard time finding help. The old pay rate won’t pay for much more than a dumpster these days.

Yes, minimum wage in PA is still $7.25/hour. It hasn’t been raised since 2009. Every state that borders PA has raised their minimum wage by no less than $1.50/hour in West Virginia, which is now $8.75/hour. New Jersey, just across the Delaware River from Philadelphia, is now $13.00/hour.

Kris must have really been rehabilitated.

That’s one way to test the strength of Kris’ recovery. The restaurant business is perilous for someone trying to stay off drugs and alcohol. There is a great deal of both in that environment.
