Max wins. Can’t argue with that logic.

At Max’s age, I spent a LOT of time reading. If it wasn’t something I chose it was what I could find. I could quote the ads at the back of the comic books. I knew the ingredients in the cereal (it wasn’t quite that hard back then). And I read about five books a week. Admittedly, more than half of them were “juvenile”.

Wonder if Phoebe does oppose Apple Jack cereal for not tasting like apples, btw.

write a book about your self then. I have to agree why read about things you have no interest in? Maybe if you just want to know stuff and I suppose that could be the case but learning about kayaks is only useful if you live near water IMO. I think he should read about bikes or hang guilders. Or if we’re going to be useful read “Weird nerdy girls and how to communicate with them if you your self are also nerdy and kind of shy”

I’m reading a book about cartooning. That will save me from becoming a cartoonist!

There may be no books about Max, but there are books regarding the autistic spectrum, that would be a good start.

Anyone who’s found themselves thirty pages deep into Wikipedia gets this.

Oh, I get it. Max is reading these books because he wants to be a child detective, like Conan Edogawa. Detectives in fiction are always bringing up random knowledge that no one is expected to just know and is usually useless but somehow ends up being the perfect info to solve the elaborate murder trick.

Lately, I’ve been thinking of reading more nonfiction. It may not be escapist, but it’s still interesting when done right. And educational.

I’m with him—if I’m waiting around for something and there’s a book there, as long as it’s not on an offensive topic, I’m likely to at least pick it up and glance inside.
