I use MERV 13 filters in my house. They stop everything down to Legionella (0.3–1.0 micron). MERV 13-16 are standard in hospitals, they don’t stop viruses, but will catch any sneeze particles and breath droplets.
When we lived in San Antonio they had something called “mountain cedar” which we found we were very allergic too so we had air cleaners in every room of the house. When we bought a new HVAC heat pump we added a whole house air cleaner which allowed us to get rid of the room air cleaners as it worked much better. So when we moved into our new home in Eastern OK in 2017, the first thing we did was add a whole house air cleaner. to our HVAC which does an excellent job as both wife and I are very allergic to ragweed.
Yep. We installed Reme Halo-LED air purifiers at church. Available for home also. They generate a stream of ionized hydro-peroxide as a disinfectant. Common in commercial settings.

And you don’t have to pee in it, unlike the gas masks worn in World War I.

yeah, those things don’t come cheap, Joe!

That explains why no one seems to be wearing a mask in there.

Not to mention, not every home and business needs a system like that.

HEPA systems are great! Expensive to purchase, expensive to install, and expensive to maintain, but they work.

Hear tell they’re not that expensive…
