A lot of people want to get rid of daylight saving time, but I say itās just too long. Starts too early, ends too late, just give us six months of each.
On a related note, I remember when the self-winding watches came out and even the magical Digital readout watches (the ones you couldnāt read in direct sunlight). Quartz crystal was a big deal too. I donāt miss winding my watch every morning, but I get the feeling that charging the battery is about the same.
If more people watched the way a sundial behaves throughout a year, they would better understand that the time change accomplishes nothing. In my opinion, the benefits are all in your/their head. The downsides are real, but minor & temporary.

Move what? Thereās no reason to move the gnomon, and the markers are unlabelled. Just start from the next rock.

I only see eight rocks. I guess the days really are shorter in Winter.

For most folks changing a clock is now nothing more than a twice a year habit and they could not give you an actual reason for its being done.

I will be honest with you, I still have not reset my watch. I lost the instructions and havenāt bothered to try and find them online yet.
I am thinking of getting a new watch, maybe I will just get one for DST and one for Standard.
