The guy who taught me to do construction always said that if you made a mistake that you couldn’t paint over or put behind a cabinet, then you should just put a frame around it and call it art. I have actually used the last clause of that wisdom a few times in my life.
Martin Luther is said to have told his choir, “Sin boldly!” The idea being, it’s better to be loud and occasionally hit the wrong note with confidence than to be so quiet nobody can hear you when you get it right.
