Learned from his father well.

Marcus taking his girl to a cafeteria for a date may not be such a bad idea. Some cafeterias are very good. While at the seminary, their cafeteria was the Sunday place to be for the townsfolk after services. And, the price was right. Good economy was a thing from his dad that Marcus learned well.

“Quit being such a tightwad and start blowing your money so I can criticize you for that instead!”

Gut laugh here.

Somebody tell Marcus that you can actually lose money playing poker.

And on their next date,Marcus refuses to buy her a 2nd Federal Donut.

“SPENDING?? Oops.”

And his brothers WONDER why Marcus is wealthy and they’re broke???

Honestly? If someone likes you for you, it doesn’t matter how much money you spend or where you go. Some of the best dates I had with my husband before we were married cost nothing.

I’m reminded of a “plumber” I called to unclog my bathtub drain. A handyman washed all the grout from the shower into the drain and it stopped up. I told this to the kid they sent, and he whipped out his phone and said “grout….?” and started typing like it was a foreign language he had never encountered before and he needed the English definition

Wait – Marcus is taking her??? So is he actually paying, even if at the hospital cafeteria? Progress!

As somebody whose father has been in the hospital several times over the last few years, Robb might want to check some of the cafeteria prices near him. They aren’t cheap at all, though they are much cheaper than pricy restaurants.

Valentine’s Day is only 3 weeks away. Are we seriously going to see this wedding happen on that date?

Don’t try to make her think you’re something you’re not. If you sell yourself as something you’re not, it will never work out in the long run.
