Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Graham, we know that you have to do what is right for you. If you need to cut back, I think all of us Crackers can understand. We will miss the original strips, of course. But you have earned a relaxing retirement.
We surely understand why you need to produce fewer new strips. I agree with others here that it would be nice to see the earlier strips repeated. As long as youâre still here with Annie and the cats, we Graham Crackers will be happy.
Thank you for an enjoyable strip! Love Annie, all the cats and the other characters. Re âcreating new strips on a less regular basisââWas watching a âMurder She Wroteâ Cabot Cove-set episode (S5, E21) last night, Dr. Hazlitt reminds Jessica that theyâve both reached a time in their lives when they donât âought to have to rev the engine as hard as we used to âŠ.â Good advice for a lot of us!
Just for fun, here is something I posted yesterday on Facebook.
Letâs play bad news/good news.Bad news. When I went in my bathroom last night. I discovered the toilet was leaking. Or, actually, it was the pipe that brings the water to the toilet.Good news. My toilet has a shut off valve.Bad news. I turned off that valve, but the leak was right below the valve, so it continued to leak.Good news. There is a shut off valve in the basement. Bad news. I couldnât turn it off. And Superman wasnât available to turn it off for me,Good news. Wrapping a rag around the leak at least kept the water from spraying the wall.Bad news. It didnât really address the problemGood news. I was able to get a plumber to get here this morning.Bad news. The problem was a lot bigger than just the leak at the toilet. Big problem in the basement, the plumber told me. It required having the village shut water off to my house. Until they could do that, my plumber went to do another job.Good news. The village was prompt in turning off my water.Bad news. Having no water in the house really sucks.Good news. I was able to fill some jugs with water before I lost all water to my house so I was at least able to wash my hands. I even got enough water to water my plants.Bad news. The plumber would take another couple hours before heâd be back. That meant he wouldnât be back until after I went to work,Good news. I just happened to request (and was approved) paid time off this week, so I had the day off. The plumber returned in the afternoon, and he fixed all my problems in the bathroom and in the basement.Bad news. He was here quite a while so I can expect a sizeable bill coming in the mail.Good news. Whatever it costs, I know I have enough money to cover it. (more coming).
Thanks to everyone for their words of comfort yesterday about my friend, Julia. In another bad news/good news. Iâd say the good news is that I did not get a call yesterday saying that she has died. Bad news, I did not hear how she is doing. And with her serious condition and with stupid COVID raising its ugly head again, I doubt anyone aside from her immediate family will be allowed to visit her (if they even allow family to visit). If I donât hear from my other friend, Linda or from Juliaâs son, Mark, soon I may have to call Juliaâs house (Mark lives with her) and ask how she is.
If things donât go as I would like and she doesnât live, I hope her passing will be peaceful and painless. That might be the most I can hope for at this point.
Could my birthday get any worse? Less 10 Cats is still better than none, and despite it being 2 degrees Fahrenheit I have to pull 300 feet of well pipe out of the ground by hand after a day of work to find out why we have no water on the property and get it fixed before nightfall.
Hi Graham. Congratulations on your first decade. I hope for many more years to come. I have always loved your strip and as a true dog lover even I can come to love your kitties here with a deep affection. I really donât mind any re runs as any of the strips are a pleasure for me to read. Please keep them coming. Thank you for bring me into your wonderful world of Ten Cats and for bringing a little bit of sunshine into my day. âșâșâ„â„âșâșâ„â„
Thank YOU for bringing us the kitties, Mr. Harrop. And thank you for the Christmas miracle saving of the warehouse. Annie and the kitties will be forever young for us. We will enjoy the reruns and will so look forward to the occasional new ones! All good wishes to you!
I hate to see one of the few wholesome comic strips that the whole family can appreciate disappear (or semi-disappear). Thanks for the wonderful memories of our feline friends!
Thanks Graham! As a life long dog lover and most recently now a willing ginger-kitty servant here in my sixties, Chesneyâs antics have given me a sense of how lucky I am to care for a kitty who shows me love rather than disdain! But seriously, Annie and her kitties have long been a bright spot and I look forward to enjoying whatever you choose to share- Happy Retirement!
Graham, have a great retirement, or semi-retirement :-D! Thank you for all the years, and I will be here, re-runs or new! I never tire of this comic and I love my little Oliver (and all of them!) :-) Take care, Graham!
This is such a great strip. Wonderful characters and wonderful adventures have given us so much joy. Thank you Graham youâre the highlight of our day. Bless you!!!
You, Lynn and Lennie. I look forward to the reruns, since I havenât been following since the beginning. Iâm glad that Larryâs Motley is still being run (missing Kit ânâ Carlyle). Wonder if there are any new cartoonists who feature cats?
I discovered this strip just a few years ago and it quickly became my favorite strip. Iâll look forward to any reruns and also new ones. Iâve also enjoyed the people who also read this strip (also Breaking Cat News). Itâs one of the few places on the internet where people are concerned about others. Will continue to check in every day
Congratulations on ten years, Graham. Always look forward to reading Ten Cats, whether itâs new or old. On another note, saw five juncos and three golden crowned kinglets while out walking today.
