“’Let’s go to Paris in the spring,’ you said. It’s been raining every day we’ve been here!”

It’s France – they could be watching a pair of horny teenagers go at it with that same amount of expression.

/// It’s a rainy day in old “Paree.”

Dans la rue, everywhere you can see,

    people out, strolling by,

    and they keep themselves dry

    with identical parapluies.

/// “I Love Paris,” Cole Porter had written.

For each season he tells why he’s smitten.

    This great lyrical whiz

    tells of wintertime driz-

zles, (but rain seems more likely in Britain).

It’s very fashionable to go for a walk in Paris in the winter with your umbrella.

    . . . even if it’s not raining.

I haven’t seen carriage horses do that, but I suppose it’s much like donkeys. That’s quite a spectacle, it’s hard not to watch.

    Paris Street in Rainy Weather

    https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Gustave_Caillebotte_-_Paris_Street;_Rainy_Day_-_Google_Art_Project.jpg

(best viewed with Google Chrome, which can automatically translate most webpages as necessary) has info and links that point to more info about this huge painting. I couldn’t find an exact match to the strip coloration image.

Again, a larger strip image is shown by (⌘- or Ctrl-) clicking the image at

    http://thatispriceless.blogspot.com/2015/07/masterpiece-1253_9.html

I have added a comment there (awaiting Mr. Melcher’s approval) pointing to the artist info I used to point to here. So far, 14 works by this artist, have been used here (18 times total, including this Throwback Thursday repeat, and 3 earlier repeats, including a Throwback Thursday).

    https://www.gocomics.com/that-is-priceless/2015/07/10?comments=visible

has the first time this was used here (the 30 hyperlinks in my comment there have been deactivated, but perhaps the text remains informative).
