When I had an RV, sometimes I had to pay more for a tank of gas than I paid for my first car. Filling the huge tank up will at least double the value of that vehicle.
With tandem axels, I would put the length of the tank at 8 feet. If the tank is 6’ in diameter, that would be 226 cf or 1,690 gallons. Even at 10 mpg, you could drive 16,000+ miles. It would cost about $5,000 to fill up, unless you’re in CA where it would cost about $7,000.
The Volvo plug-in hybrid gets about 20 – 25 miles in full electric mode, we have not taken it out on any sort of road trip due to COVID, except down to Nanaimo for the Costco, and they have charging and petrol facilities there. The last time I filled the tank was October 29th. Still have about 7/8 of a tank. Jag I-Pace gets about 300 miles/500 KM per charge. Solar panels and at home charging means we can always leave with a full “tank.” Charging stations in town and at a few of the stores and such we patronize means no range anxiety. We have taken it on several trips to Victoria and Vancouver in summer and winter with no difficulty. YMMV.
I had a ‘66 Oldsmobile Delta 88, it’s city mileage was 9 mpg! It was a real tank of a car and extremely safe for the driver and passengers compared to other cars of that era. But, as gas prices rose it became more of a financial burden just to keep it fed. :P
Unlike my car, which gets good mileage, but has a gas tank not much bigger than a goldfish bowl. (Yes, that’s called exaggerating for humorous effect).

It’ll probably cost him double that at the pump to fill ’er up.

Or he could buy an electric car with a battery that is just as big.

The gas mileage will improve as the gas is used up, lightening the load.

Haven’t seen “Christine” for a long time, and – Whoa! – she got a bit fat since the last time, huh?
Doug K about 3 years ago
Since the tank holds 600 gallons, that’s 2 miles per gallon.

And it can do zero to sixty in two minutes.

I’ve heard the Spanish could go 6,000 miles on a galleon.

The tank is round so it is easier to roll the car back upright after going around a corner.

My Honda Civic’s tank of gas lasts me two weeks and more at times….LOL
It’s a 2004…..

Big gas tanks are great. I want the largest available. The only time you can have too much fuel aboard is if you’re on fire.

I see about a 500 gallon tank. I would think it would do much better than 1200 miles.
Step up your sales talk, man!!!

That looks like one of them septic tank honey-dipper trucks to me. Don’t expect too much miles per gallon.

If it comes with a complimentary full tank of gas.. take it.

One team tried that in ‘The Gumball Rally’ …didn’t work out so well.

Since the future is electric cars, someone should do a study on what it costs to charge batteries

You need to mortgage your house to get a fill-up.
