To those of us who knew the pain – Of valentines that never came – And those whose names were never called – When choosing sides for basketball

A veritable deluge!

I totally get how Charlie is feeling, except I never expected any to be given to me when I was at school..

I know how he feels.

It is well to bear in mind, though, that both Peppermint Patty and Marcie have romantic feelings for Charlie Brown. They even gave him a hand-made Valentine’s Day card in the 90s, but then took it back from him again when he didn’t appear to appreciate it enough.

Not to worry little guy, Valentine’s Day is still two days away.

Too bad Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown no longer airs annually.

When i was in school everyone would bring a valentine for everyone in class. Round grade 5 or grade 6 that made me extremely uncomfortable as I was not “normal” and i found getting cards from both genders very troubling as I had trouble trying to figure out if any of them were like me or just following the everyone gets one custom. Back then you absolutely could not talk about that type of confusion with anyone as it was “wrong” to not identify as your own apparent gender, or to be interested in multiple genders or in your own gender. I am being evasive as to my difference because even in my 50’s i still am uncomfortable confronting who or what i am or might be if I had ever had the opportunity to explore that aspect of myself without fear of consequences.

Wait! You can mail Valentine’s cards? I never knew that. I had thought you had to deliver them in person along with a box of chocolates. How else can you get rewards back like chocolate kisses if you drop the card in the impersonal mailbox?

Poor ole Charlie Brown. :(

The first Valentine I got was from my husband. Even in school I wouldn’t get one. Kids weren’t made to give one to EVERY classmate then.

No mail in the mailbox.

If I could, I would send Chuck a valentine. :-/

No valentines cards? Story of my life.

There’s hopeless optimism, and then there’s Charlie Brown…

I went to elementary school in the early and mid ’70s. Kids always gave Valentines cards to others in our class (just our specific classroom, not the whole grade) but never mailed them.

I don’t get any Valentine’s cards, but I sure like to give them every year! That is the fun part for me. I wouldn’t mind a nice bunch of flowers for my table, though.

Not even in your dreams, Chuck. On second thought, I wonder if Marcie or Patty ever considered giving him one; they were both really fond of him, in the 70s at least.

This is one of those times when it’s hard to empathize with Charlie Brown. Maybe I’m just getting old.

Valentines Day: Just another corporate ploy to separate an individual from their hard earned money.

Maybe they ended up in Canada and Farley the dog intercepted them today! (See today’s For Better or For Worse)

Maybe change the T shirt will get your more chicks, Chuck

Only thing in our mailbox is TV Guide™, and sometimes that gets lost.

We didn’t mail valentines in grade school; they got passed out there in class. Everyone went around putting them in each others’ baskets.

Like Halloween, Valentine’s Day is just another day to get cavities and diabetes. But hey, I might not have a boyfriend, but I have my family and all the animals who constantly visit me.

Sometimes, Life, is a terrible sidekick.

It’s always too early to check your mailbox for Valentine’s cards.

Charlie Brown just can’t get any mail. Rats!

It was on this date, in 2000, that Charles Schultz died. I think he retired a day or two prior, so was not able to enjoy retirement.
