Sam didn’t stop shooting at the spiders until he ran out of ammo.

Yeti is said to be rugged and outperforms at every opportunity, but durability is just one of the benefits. That’s how he survived. Wait, that’s the cooler Yeti…..

Good morning™, fleeing suspect flashbacks !

Dick looks downright good today. Sam looks a little queasy uneasy. Sam’s bowtie shines like a beacon. The red looks good. Kudos to the “MC”.

So what happened to Daisy? Did they find him when they went after Yeti? Or they didn’t bother to go after Yeti…

    Good morning™, all!

Here, finally, is a quick conclusion to the previous story. I guess it took some time to get through the steel door, but they eventually did and Yeti had surprisingly already recovered from the spider attack and scampered away with his brief case full of poison formulas. He apparently left his broken glasses behind but I suppose they wouldn’t have been any good to him.

Sam’s posture in the second panel is weird. There’s no reason for him to slump over and put his hand on the table.

There must have been a sale on black ink!

1-SAM: Remember when I got scared of all those big spiders so I unloaded a clip on ‘em and all that did was let ‘em out to chase us around the room?

DT: Yeah and a ricochet hit my sunglasses – Moron.

SAM: And neither one of us wanted to chase Al Bino down the sewer. DT: I ordered YOU to do it!

2-SAM: I would’ve but I didn’t have my rubbers and I had on my favorite loafers.

DT: What’s personal protection go to do with anything? ALSO, I didn’t see your dad around that day.

SAM: That’s a low blow, Tracy.

DT: Speaking of low blows, how’s your sis…

SAM: Now you expect me to say that was a DIRTY CRACK, don’t you? WELL, I AIN’T GONNA DO IT!

    DT: PLEASE?

I see by today’s strip that unlike the Royal Canadian Mount Police, Tracy and company don’t always get their man.

    Great layout today.

Reminds me of when Gould first experimented with larger panels. In 1950 when Blowtop blew up Tracy’s house.Gould considered that story so special he switchedto 3-PANEL GRID SO WE COULD really GET A LOOK AT bLOWTOP.

He carried it over once in a while in the following TV Wiggles story.

Always good to keep an open mind abot suspects, right Dick? You never know when the guy you are sure is the one who did it (ordered it) turns out not to be the guy.

Steve Cochran was so good as “Big Ed” in WHITE HEATthat they gave him his own lead stinker role as“Walter Legenza”,a real life mid-1930’s crook who wasa truck hijacker, woman hater, mass killer, and death rowescapee. He eventually went back to the chair after 18 months on the lam.William Bendix also played him on THE UNTOUCHABLES.

Well, this is the latest chapter of The Saga of My Broken Leg.

I got out of the hospital yesterday after a second operation on my broken leg. During the first operation, the surgeon had put in a steel plate and 7 screws to fix the broken tibia and fibula (a common break). It turned out that the operation failed and the screws and plate came loose. I was told that I would have to have a second operation to fix the first botched one. At the same time, the Governor of my state closed down all operating rooms for a month in anticipation of a huge Omicron surge (which only lasted about a week and the operating room ban is now rescinded).

Not trusting this first surgeon, I went to an orthopedist I knew personally for a second opinion. I had to go to the first one because the city ambulance only takes you too the nearest hospital. The second surgeon showed me the xrays. This was a “rookie job” (his words). The tibia and fibula had shifted laterally, dropped down onto the malleous bones (the bones that stick out on either side of your foot as your ankles) and crushed them into many fragments. In addition, the fibula had attached itself to one of the fragments and had knitted together and healed. Plus, the steel plate used by the first surgeon was the wrong sized hardware for my leg.

This surgeon had to remove the old hardware and put in properly-sized, fit the malleous bones back together and bind them in place with surgical rope. He then had to re-break the healed bones trying to recreate the original fracture so the pieces fit, and shift them to their proper places so that the toes did not curl under the foot as they had been shifting.

So now I am in a cast again and everything starts over. The original accident was on November 3rd and now it will be at least another 3 months before this is all over. At any rate, I am confined to sitting with an elevated leg every day as I heal. Hopefully, this time for good.

    Let’s keep it in mind.

That’s a fine Tracy serving as divider between cops entering the office and Yeti fleeing down a dark tunnel.

And yet[i], somehow I find it hard to view him as a suspect in the murders of gang bosses that he himself was upset by enough to send Ape and Ferret on their failing mission….
