I’m glad Greg feels awful!

Lots to like about this one:

1. Michael, the hypocrite, judges the adults for doing something like he did to Lawrence when he strong-armed Lawrence into telling his parents he was gay without thinking about what would happen.

2. Connie did not reveal to Elly the reason why Greg threw him other than “he said something.” Connie is clearly placing the blame and it is not on Greg. That darn Lawrence. If only he hadn’t said something.

3. Connie is ready to call the hospitals and police because the mean streets of Milborough ain’t no place for a black man.

4. Connie is ready to call the hospitals and police, but… it’ s a lot more effective to call Elly.

Glad to hear Greg feels awful…and he should.

Except in these cases the fools act out first and then NEVER think, now or later.

NOW Greg feels awful?

In the real world, parents who throw their kids out for whatever reason rarely feel awful about it immediately afterward.

So…Elly is too damned lazy to search for Lawrence herself.

Instead, she awakens her son who probably has school later.

And Greg feels “awful”?? Like hell he is!!

Did Connie say over the phone that Greg feels awful and that she is ready to call the hospitals and the police? I must have missed reading that yesterday. Perhaps it was a magic phone that still worked after its line was pulled out of the phone connection?

Fortunately, we’re moving toward an emotionally happy ending.

We’re forgetting the time this was written, we, or myself at least, we’re not enlightened yet. I feel bad about that.

No where does Connie say Greg feels bad, that is Elly’s take on the short conversation.

“Greg feels awful”…. Greg is a poor excuse for a human being.

I’ve seen similar things happen when a kid told his ex-hippy parents, he joined the Marines. Fortunately, I found a bed and some new family for him, in San Diego MCRD.

Oh no you don’t Michael. You are the one who goaded Lawrence into doing this; you are the one who is going to clean up this mess.

Mike should have considered how it might go. Lawrence did not have to say anything; in fact, it would have been better for the revelation to happen in the course of things. Silence is golden.

I hope Michael realizes that it’s all his fault for bullying Lawrence into doing this thing.

Michael would not be thinking that. He’d be thinking, “Oh shit! I shouldn’t have pushed him!”

Greg IS awful.Elly seems astonished by the whole thing, probably trying to figure out what someone like Lawrence could possibly say to get him thrown out. She knows Lawrence better than she knows Greg, after all. Now’s not the time to question things, now’s the time to find Lawrences.

Engage mouth before engaging brain is my wife’s SOP. Her lack of forethought has caused me problems more than once.

Michael is right on the money about adults acting first and thinking later. That last comment should’ve been out loud, so Elly could hear their hypocrisy, especially hers!

Sure seeing a lot of comments that the only thing that needs working out in the Thomas family are Greg’s funeral arrangements.
