I still have two wind-up watches; A “face-set” pocket watch and one gold-plated from my father. Both still work and I wear them occasionally just to get them active.
My 88yo mom has two Mickey Mouse watches, one with a leather strap for everyday wear & one with a gold-color band for dress-up. Neither one is 65 years old though; she treated herself to them 25 years ago.
I don’t have an old-time collector watch but my kids laugh at me for wearing one at all — until someone asks what the time is and I can tell them without pulling out a phone and swiping it. I actually wear a diving watch — because I don’t have to worry about forgetting to take it off to do dishes or to shower. As a ‘plugger’ I am more worried about being totally dependent on a single electronic device. It’s great to have a phone that is also an address book, a business file, a camera, a photo album, movie theater, encyclopedia, arcade, shopping center, etc. But when that device fails or gets dropped in the ocean or run over by a car . . . Sometimes even ‘the cloud’ can’t recover everything.
My first watch was my dad’s until he died when I was ten. Since then, I always wore a watch until I got an iPhone. Then I got an Apple Watch 4. I finally upgraded to a 7 this year. I always got self-winding watches until my first digital, and then they all had batteries.
No – never had one nor did husband, but I still have the Sleeping Beauty watch my uncle gave me for my 5th birthday. It doesn’t work, but the wristband still fits my wrist!

Do you realize what a 65 year old Dick Tracy watch is worth today?!? What the hell are you doing wearing it out where it could be damaged?

You are a Real plugger if you are still wearing it, it still runs, AND, you have No Idea of it’s value nowadays as a collectible.

Are you still a Plugger if you are wearing a modern watch which allows you to talk into it like Dick Tracy did?

Only things made 65 years ago would still be working 65 years later.

He’s so bloated that he would need an extra long band to have it fit his wrist.

You’re a real plugger, if you wear even though it hasn’t kept correct time in decades.

He must have changed the band, mine wouldn’t come close to fitting now
