The negative stereotype of cats is that they are cold and aloof. This cat is showing the exact opposite. She loves Earl very much and wants attention from him. Yes, she’s being demanding, but pets are like that.
There is a boat-cat who hangs out around one of the local piers. She wears a vest and has a “poodle-cut”. Naturally, she attracts plenty of attention on her rounds as a “bait inspector”. Tourists and other admirers get to pet her for about five seconds. After that, you get the “back off” swipe. She doesn’t scratch anyone but you quickly get the idea.
Stayed overnight with some friends who had a cat. Darn cat insisted on walking around on top of me while I was trying to sleep. If I shut it out of the room, it started scratching on the door. Finally got to sleep and woke up in the morning with a heavy head, that cat was draped across my forehead.

Sometimes you can give a cat too much attention, and it’ll let you know that by drawing blood.
