The only time I know Iâve been to a live Tchaikovsky performance was The Nutcracker Christmastime 2005; went with a girl I used to partially date and her parents to see her younger sister in the cast.
Fun Fact: I actually wrote The 1812 Overture for Woodstock. Who knew Tchaikovsky would âborrowâ Nikola Teslaâs time machine and steal it from me! Time travel is REAL, and the Gubmintâs hiding it! Wake up, people!
Am I the only one grossed out by her sucking out his brains? A picture of his brain turning to mush would have been adequate. Plus we all know Poncho rocks every boat and everything else he can get into.
As far as I know, Tchaikovsky never wrote anything specifically for cello. He wrote various works for small string ensemble, which would obviously include cello, but there is no such thing as a work by Tchaikovsky specifically for cello. The closest thing to it is that 60 bar fragment referred to above.
Technically speaking, there isnât a Tchaikovsky âcello concertoâ despite the claim of a 60 bar excerpt. Variations on a Rococo Theme acts as one for âcello soloists with orchestra.

The Cello Concerto of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is a conjectural work based in part on a 60-bar fragment found on the back of the rough draft for the last movement of the composerâs Sixth Symphony, the PathĂ©tique. In 2006, Ukrainian composer and cellist Yuriy Leonovich completed the work. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cello_Concerto_(Tchaikovsky/Leonovich)
