Instead of a time machine, Calvin should have invented an automatic homework writer.

And now all together back to the evening before to blame the 8:30 pm Calvin.

Of course, the real time paradox is that 7:30 Calvin should have remembered 6:30 Calvin coming there with 8:30 Calvin, who also should have remembered that when 6:30 Calvin arrived.

Confused yet?

Have the comment goons from another dimension gone away already?

Calvin just has to write up this scenario to end up with a grade-school Pulitzer. XD

It sounds like he has done this before.

A light dawns in 8:30’s head, pity it’s a candle in the wind…….

When will Mom and/or Dad enter this scene and force the ONE Calvin to do his homework??

But present Cal will be the one who gets first twinge of pain.

Maybe they go pester the 7:00 or 8:00 Calvin into doing the homework.

I didn’t read yesterday’s wonderful reprint as I was having a day out in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, UK with my sister and brother-in-law. Some of you may be glad of this as my fondness for this particular story arc has led to my making comments about what develops – especially when someone makes a wrong guess.

I am truly sorry for any offence. I try to remember to issue spoiler alerts before commenting on how this amazing, fantastic and magnificent story arc develops.

This is the sort of thing that almost ruined Star Trek.

Somewhere back when this was originally published, I’m thinking Watterson got his hands on an explanation of String Theory and was inspired.

Calvin is totally trapped in the Causal Time Paradox…How will he get out and back to his own time?

In Lem’s story, he winds up getting hit on the head twice because as the “Thurday me”, he had lied to the “Sunday me”, by telling him he was the “Friday me”.

I always enjoyed the very human dichotomy of Jerry Seinfeld’s “night guy” versus “morning guy”. “Night guy” wants to stay up late and party with no regard for “Morning guy”, who will have the hangover and sleep-deprivation.

Clearly 6:30 AM Calvin should be called upon to complete the assignment. Nah, that’ll never work.

Hmmm…I think there’s a lesson in there!

Now this existential insanity. (I am also glad to be back after not having internet following a move for a while.)
