A guy back around this time asked for ‘Sweatshop’ to be embroidered on his Nikes, they refused. They even refused to send him a pic of the sweatshop worker who did the stitching
Just recently learned that the person I thought was my second cousin was really my first cousin once removed. My grandparents are her great-grandparents.
English is kinda odd. Here’s Mike Doonesbury, with a 1-syllable first name, hearing about Nike, a 2-syllable company that doesn’t really rhyme. It’s almost as if the language “just growed”, instead of being carefully planned.
But getting back to the strip, I think the “uh oh” is because his young bride will find her cuz working in bad conditions and she will try to fix the situation on their honeymoon.

Maybe Mike and Kim can get a discount on some Air Jordans.

This is in bad taste but I’m reminded of a Family Guy episode where a woman is working in a sweatshop and suddenly, out pops a baby

Offspring of your parent’s cousin.

I do! My cousin’s kid is my second cousin. And she and my kid are second cousins once removed. But it is easier just to say cousin
