When my wife and I eat out, if one of us is less than enthusiastic about the experience, we don’t typically go back — there are lots of other places we both like. In a slightly different vein, I recently picked up fast-food to bring home for a quick and easy dinner, but I wasn’t in the mood for what she wanted, so after picking hers up, I went somewhere else for mine.
Married life is all about flexibility and compromise.
Husband likes to eat out – he grew up in a family where they ate out every Saturday night and on holidays. I grew up in a house where eating out was extremely rare and being picky eater (and the keeper of the money) I don’t like to eat out.
Before the pandemic we ate lunch every day at Wendys (and had the same meal every day – a junior burger plain for me, two junior burgers no mustard or pickles for him). Cost us about $3.50 for the two of us so I could not complain about the price and he liked doing so – beverages free for seniors. We should not be eating that much beef. We are slowly working back towards that – currently less then daily and costs alot more even with him using on cell phone coupons.
Dinner out on Friday night before the pandemic and now on Thursday nights as much emptier, at an Asian buffet (we bring plastic gloves with us) again – to keep him happy.
Saturday night date night dinner before a movies was at – yes – Wendys again – he would have various things he had a coupon for and I had 2 junior burgers plain as he would not let have one of them. Now we eat home (and watch a movie on TV) and take out Chinese food – and I have the leftovers for Monday night dinner.

How many donut shops did the pregnant man stop at before they got to the restaurant for dinner?

Wife would suggest 5 places, out of the 5, I would pick 3. Out of those 3 she picked where we would go. Next time out I started with picking the 5.

I thought marriage was about compromise, Ralph. And June is thinking her mother was right about him.

My husband thinks Applebees and Cracker Barrel are fine dining. I prefer Grillsmiths for good food.

This miserable woman would complain no matter where you went- might as well go to the place you like. You are the one paying for it.
