Coffyhead still has those face scratches, so it wasnât a shadow, as some people yesterday thought it was. Heâs surrounded but he did give up pretty quickly. Bronko looks to be alive still, so thatâs good.
Was Coffy so preoccupied that Tracy could get the drop on him so easily ? _Real_⢠crooks would be twitchy paranoid. ..And screw up some other way.
Love the panorama view in p.1. I have been to/worked in places with a âpeople doorâ right adjoining the bay door. I like the heavy shadowing around where Sam is coming in. P.2; Nice depiction of Sam "swift"âs fast draw; you could tell he moved some air. Great points on his eyebrows. :-)
Attempted murder, felonious assault, assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, narcotics dealing, fraudâŚ.yep, looks like Coffyhead is facing a long stretch in THE BIG HOUSE.
Earlier this week, someone mentioned how the Dalton gang met their Waterloo in Coffeyville, Kansas (of all places) (and a place that Iâm familiar with)
Anymore these days, the commentary is more worthwhile than the strip!
Iâm also glad that Bronko might be ok! I guess we wonât know until the shadowy figure is fully revealed, though â and that might happen in the very next strip OR, not until later on when things are being wrapped up, right? Whenever it happens, Iâm looking forward to finding out!
While weâre on t he subject of coffee, remember Pruneface and how he poisoned the coffee on the shelves in Tracyâs hometown(just for spite,he coulda gone anywhere);and rendered hundreds of people temporarily blindâ-including Tracyâs wife Tess.
It was based on an actual product-poisoning incident that took place at the same time.
The strip the other day showed smoke coming from the barrel of Coffyheadâs gun, indicating it had recently been fired, & there have been plenty of sound effects indicating a gun battle in a tight confined space. Yet today it seems everyone is relatively unscathed, & Coffyhead seems to be surrendering after putting up a fight. Go figure.
1-DT:* DROP IT LIKE ITâS HOT, COFFEE HEAD! COFFEE: I call my gun Maxwell House âcause itâs good to the last drop! Sometimes I call it Trou because I drop it like I drop trou. Sometimes I call it A Deuce because IâŚ
DT: SHUT UP ALREADY! SAM: My Sammy Sense is tingling like something is back here. Donuts maybeâŚ
2-SCHWINGGGG!!! HANDS UP! YOU LIKE THAT SMOOTH MOVE? THEY DONâT CALL ME EX-LAX FOR NUTHIN! STUDMAN: Uhhhh, sure?
3- DT:* WHY ARE YOU BLUSHING, COFFEE? Because I caught you red handed? COFFEE: Yes. Iâm so embarrassed.
Presumably, the person Sam is swiftly leveling down on is Bronko, whom I take to be âStuntman Mikeâ in his CI persona. Otherwise, someone else has to have snuck in or been in all along without any chance of us, the readers, knowing about it. And I am very surprised that with all the gunfire of the last two days, a minimum of four shots fired that we saw/heard, no one seems at this point to have been hit at all (unless Bronko turns out to be wounded once we see him more clearly)!
Looks like a soft ending to the sag of Coffyhead, and rather ho hum .Is that all there is? (As asked by Miss Peggy Lee: https://tinyurl.com/3hn738uz )
Last-minute observation. The container on the far left of the first frame seems to say âWADââ I wonder what that is. The sack we saw before said âFIBER FILL.â

The figure only in shadow looks slim to me. Could it be Tonsils?

Why do these guys always run around with their fingers on the trigger? like Dustin Hoffman once said, âBad form, Jackâ.

Not to mention a few truckloads of drugs are on the premises, enough to hang Coffy figuratively;if not sadly literally.
And Dot and Tonsils 2 get to break the news story on t heir showâ-are they allowed to say âNyahh, nyahh, nyahhâ besides?

And so Coffyhead is poured back into badguy obscurity (where he shouldâa stayed all along). Whoâs up next, Spinner ReCord?

Tracy might be using frangible ammunition.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frangible_bullet
From the lack of bad stuff going on today I would call what Tracy was using non fungible ammunition.
