Imagine being an Oakland A’s fan: Ticket prices jacked up in the offseason, highest-paid players traded for minor leaguers during spring training and then a team executive says publicly that if taxpayers build them a 12 BILLION dollar stadium complex, maybe they won’t get rid of their best players. Yeah, that should convince everyone to build the A’s a new ballpark.
The only thing missing in Oakland is Tom Berenger at catcher, Corbin Bernsen at third base and Charlie Sheen in the bullpen. Otherwise, we’ve already seen this one at the theater.
I often say that as living just south of Toledo between Detroit and Cleveland, we’re at the epicenter of football futility. Now, between Detroit and Cincinnati, it’s almost the same for baseball.
And then, and then…along came the Pirates so Cincy got well. Bucs now have 3, yes 3 hits in two games, but won one of them, yes, against Cincy. Oakland ..lowest BA in all of baseball. Lot of fans disguised as empty seats though. Hope Manfred is happy.
I think the Cleveland Baseball Club and the Cincinnati Reds should merge and move to Columbus. You can move the Clippers to Cleveland where it would make more sense.

Other team gets no hits, still wins… that’s about as vague as baseball gets.

Nothing vague about the number of empty seats, though.

There could be some college teams locally or a minor league team.

“Where are you going to go for baseball?” Cleveland, Pittsburgh…the couch in front of their TV sets?

In every sports fan’s life, a little rain must fall. Sadly, for Reds fans, it’s a deluge!
Cheer up Cincinnati, football season will be here soon and you’ll have a team to be proud of!

Oy! Sounds like the Reds are the current laughable version of the ’62 Mets.

Cincinnati is a ridiculous place to have MLB anyway. Tiny market, 6 other MLB markets in within 6 hours drive.

Hopefully both Oakland and TB authorities stick to their guns, aka SD did with Chargers.

Now that I have Australian football (season runs March to September), I can’t imagine ever caring about baseball again.

They started playing decent ball for about a week — topping it off with a no-hitter against Pittsburgh! … which, of course, they lost anyway.

could be worse – they could have the cubs’ owners…
