    I always loved COBOL. Afterwards, the industry went nuts with the alphabet and came up with dozens, if not hundreds, of new languages.

    Our high school didn’t have a mainframe, so they sent us to a college to use theirs and run our punchcards. We had to wait for hours, and one bad card ruined it all

    Anyone else code in PL/I? Wasn’t used by too many, but GM’s old CAD/CAM system was written in PL/I, I loved it. When that system was finally retired, it was a sad day for me. I had to move on to C, C+…
