This grand experiment is a total failure. Gil and Kaz need to be dismissed for endangering a student and being terrible coaches. I think the strip should start following Coach Butkus at Oakwood.
Epilogue: Gregggg Hammm goes on to lead Team USA to Gold in Beep Baseball https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beep_baseball. Mrrrrr. Hammm shows his presence at the podium, thinking that no one will see him.
Heather Burns with regrets types her next days story, entitled Thorp Endangers Players Lives ! In all reality , by starting a Milford pitcher with minimal sight issues, Coach Thorp recklessly endangered Milford and Oakwood players .
The Oakwood coach figures out in one hit what it took Gil all season to figure out. Apparently there are advantages to actually showing up at the games. Who knew?
So finally Mikkkke Ditkaaaa, of all people, is the only person smart enough to figure out Gregggg’s problem. And it only took 10 minutes, as opposed to Gillll and Kazzzz who have had the kid all year and had no clue until recently.
Well, here we go. Tomorrow Gillll yanks Gregggg off the mound. Gregggg realizes he’s hurting the team and voluntarily quits pitching. A valuable lesson is learned, tears flow, readers’ lunches are lost, on to Milfordddd Country Club.
Not sure why Scooooter didn’t threaten the other team with beanballs from Gregggg to ward off any bunting. I mean, it worked like a charm before!
Help me out with P3. Bunts – okay. Flubs – okay. Double over the drawn in infield – okay. Fakes??? What? What were they faking? Fake bunting would seem ridiculous since actual bunting guaranteed getting on base. And why the hell is Gil bringing in the infield in the first inning with the score either 0-0 or 1-0? His strategy, as usual, sucks. And speaking of sucking, today’s Mopped Up Thorp is sucking a little less that Gil Thorp itself.

Gregg will mature by now taking himself out, for the good of the team. Gil may yell at Coach Butkus, but Oakwood’s tactics were within the rules.

So what’s your plan now, Scooooter?

Oakwood has really been working on their bunt launch angles, haven’t they? Scooooter can only watch and dream

Not sure why Gregg even bothered covering first, but his path would carry him right past the bag even if he miraculously caught the ball.

Nice going, Gil! I told you a couple of days ago that your primary job was winning ball games, but did you listen? Noooooo.

Apparently other coaches are not as stupid as Gilpa. They will all quickly realize that Hamm pitching=an easy win for them

In addition to working in TV commercials for products used by the elderly, Tom Selleck also coaches HS baseball as a side gig.

If he’s such a great pitcher, how are they bunting off him?

Where the hell is Greggg Hammm running? Was he going to cover the right field foul pole?
