I used to wear Dr. Scholls sandals. I could even run in them.

I don’t do sandal shopping, so it’s easy.

As long as it doesn’t spread my toes, I’ll consider it for fit. But the truth is, what sandals do best is flip pebbles onto the top of the sole, under your foot.

Serendipity: Both Frazz and Arlo & Janus are riffing on sandals today.

Current models will persist unchanged in landfills for many generations longer than it took to form the oil.

Polylactic acid (PLA) is easily the most used plastic for 3d printing. It’s made by fermenting corn starch. No oil involved. It degrades into its constituents by composting, can be burned without creating noxious fumes, and is also easily recycled into new PLA filament using consumer grade equipment. It even smells like cornbread baking when you print with it.

Sandal shopping season is October, when Walmart has them at ridiculously low prices.

In actual fact, the world’s REALLY oldest footwear is “nothing”.
