To be fair, Uvalde is a small town. It’s unrealistic to expect that the law enforcement outfits would be as well trained, manned, equipped, led, and supported as larger cities. A few of the recent examples with better responses are Buffalo, Chattanooga, and Tulsa. There were 7 mass shootings over the past weekend, at least 11 dead and 54 injured.
Every Cop there needs to be fired and banned from police work. All the supervisors need to face prison time. 40 years as an LEO and I have never seen such bad police work. Even makes Broward County look good.
Newport,Kentucky is a busy suburb across the river from Cincinnati,Ohio.
Across the street from the Aquarium is a house(now a nightclub,or was) that belonged to a man named Thompson.
The inventor of the Thompson submachine gun.
Popular story is that he invented it solely to sell to the Army, anddidn’t expect it to be hijacked by criminals as t he leading death weapon of the Roaring 20’s.
I’ve been reading the stories told by the parents, friends and survivors of the children who died and my God all one can do where I am is cry. And tell are senators to get off their rear ends and vote for some sensible gun laws.
It looks like the Uvalde police got their playbook from the Broward County sheriff’s office circa the time of the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas school massacre. Same exact thing happened, 17 students killed while cops stood outside the school. Few days later the sheriff went on CNN and talked about his “amazing leadership” as sheriff of Broward County.
Lalo, my dude, no saguaro cactus in texas, but a great depiction of the brave gun-toting gendarmes. Native texan here, but I am having a hard time dealing with all these “peace keepers”. They should have given those firearms to the distraught parents and “stood back and stood by”. Even if it had saved one kid, it would have been preferable to what happened. My brother said “ah, it’s just mexicans shooting mexicans.” This is why I can’t live there anymore. Good cartoon, and thanks for allowing me to vent.

Sorry, Lalo, but this cartoon is wrong.
They weren’t asleep. They were wide awake and actively preventing others from saving the kids and teachers.

They say cowards come in all towns and cities. Oaths are oaths. We got a lot of politicians that fit coward profiles also.

B.S. if your job is to protect and serve you don’t just protect yourself and later serve up excuses.

I wondered when the “it’s just a bunch of Mexicans” comments would arrive…
