Maybe it’s that big head of yours.

It’s a statement about disliking an artist for the sole reason that others are as well. There is no reason you should not listen to his music, if you are in the mood.

NOT “ha ha” funny. “Ha ha” as in “well, looky there.”

No, because he ruined Genesis and turned into a bland corporate mechanism, churning out mass appeal soft FM pablum, instead of smartly written and scored, edgy prog rock!

Phil was a great rock drummer – and a lame pop singer. (And no, that “was” isn’t a “Ghost of James Caan” reference; Phil retired.)

I must have been too old for him. I turned 40 in 1986. I thought he was too vanilla.

David Bowie referred to his mid-80s work as his “Phil Collins years”. He was just making pop songs without much artistic value.
