Lots of bored kids in the cartoons, tonight. A few days ago, a cartoon had the kids complaining to each other about being bored then denied they said it to their mom who had a list of chores to cure them of boredom.
So is “being different” something that you CAN have “in common”? It makes syntactic sense, but I could argue pretty persuasively (I suppose) that the “different” trumps the “commonality”.
People at work tell me they find reading boring. I don’t understand how you can find reading boring. I find it exciting it can take you all over the universe.
Naturally, due to her apparent intelligence, one might think that Kate is always reading serious stuff – history, science, and like that. Could be she’s reading Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland which is a parallel to some of Danae’s adventures – or something similar.

And yet, when the revolution comes it will be led by Kate.

Reading can be like traveling to new and wondrous places. Just pick the right book.

Oh that is weirdly fun, Danae – the first hint of downtime and i snuggle up on the sofa with a thick bulbous book…. thicker the better.

Are they twins? Or is Kate older? Or was Danae switched at birth by aliens?

I’m glad that I’m different than all the people I know. We all keep each other from being bored.

Never underestimate a siblings ability to make a bad thing worse.

My love of reading is exactly why I am rarely bored. I am most bored at work, sad to say.

Having taught school for over 30 years I can attest that this happens way more often than one would suppose.

“A person who won’t read has no advantage over one who can’t read” – Mark Twain. I read every day, and not just the comics.

All of our three children were different. I always joked that I knew who the mother was but wasn’t sure about the father! :)

The difference is that one of you chooses to be bored.

I’m with Kate. I’ve been a reader all my life, starting with Dr. Seuss (whose work I still love).

My heart breaks for all the people who never learned how to “get into” a book. They can read just fine. But they’re just reading words.
