Geez, John, if he has done this before, I think you’d wise up and hold the keys, have him give you the cash before turning over the key. If he says he doesn’t have the cash, put the keys back in your pocket.
Panel 1, a question for science experts. If you loosely hold a board like that in one hand and you try to pry a nail that is stubbornly stuck in the board with a claw hammer, what is likely to happen? Will the board swing up and smash the father in the face?
Just feed Michael a large bowl of beans. That will fill him up with a lot of gas. And then he could go and have a rooting-tooting night out on the town with all those beans in him.
Unreasonable request, the station wagon likely has a 20 gallon tank so if it is 1/2 full that would be 10 gallons at say $1.25 gallon which would be about $25 in 2022 $. Why would dad have the keys in the pocket of his work jeans?
I know the feeling, I had friends that would borrow pickups and they never seemed to be able to stop and fill the gas tank ….. the worst of it was I had accounts at all the local gas stations ….. all they had to do was stop and gas them up on my account …. :(

It seems "de rigeur " for cartoonists to depict teenagers as lazy and selfish.

My neighbor deliberately kept his gas tank on empty so his teenage son wouldn’t use it.

But how do you expect a teen to have a 100 bucks to fill a tank?
