I’ve gone to electric yard tools, but the electric chainsaw is rather limited. It is good for cutting up the branches the Oregon White Oaks keep dropping. Mostly. So, I still have a gas one.
Back in the 60’s I worked in a hardware store. Putting new Toro mowers together was part of the job. Filling them up with gas and one pull they started.
Old pastor at yard sale for used mower. Won’t start. Young lad says you need to swear and pull. Pastor says he hasn’t used that kind of language in years. Lad says “keep pulling, it’ll come back to you.”
I now add some fuel system cleaner to the gas can every time I fill it; the same stuff you put in your car to prevent gums and varnish formation. My latest mower even has a Platinum or Iridium plug which I think helps with quick starts. I put Stabil in the gas for winter storage and every month or two start the mowers (3) and let run 5 minutes. No more protracted Spring wake ups. Oil gets done at the end of the season along with blade sharpening. Air cleaners load up and need to be cleaned or changed depending on type.
Even when I was younger and stronger, I could not start the “pull” lawnmower. Hubby bought me an electric one, which made it possible for me to help out a bit with the BIG lawn we had at the time. (And I didn’t run over the cord even once, lol).

Better keep a really old plugger away from the chainsaw. Save that one for Leatherface. He will give you a good cut of fresh meat.

If you want just one pull, be sure they are powered by Briggs & Stratton.
