This happened to me, and she was on a leash – armadillo, luckily mostly skeletal.

The comic is printed so small in the L.A. Times — and in black & white — that it’s impossible to tell what it is. Looks like the dog is contemplating eating a clump of grass!

I spent more then a few years walking my dogs and it was a race to stop my dogs from eating what ever they found.

Buddy would have already eaten it.
