The Bible is the world’s longest-running, most widely respected, and least reliable Rorschach Test. You can look in it and see anything you want to see, find anything you want to find, justify any pre-ordained conclusion you prefer, or validate any prejudice — because the Bible has it all: love, hate; revenge, redemption; war, peace; freedom, slavery*; humility, arrogance; kindness, cruelty; and, as Mark Twain observed, “upwards of a thousand lies”!

 *Slavery is the easiest moral question in human history. The Bible looked it squarely in the eye on multiple occasions and got it dead wrong every single time. Why would anybody ever again trust it as a reliable guide to ethical behavior?

Why would they let he be around children? Are they trying to lower Danae’s IQ?

Captain Eddie may have been around to know a few of those tales firsthand.

If the veracity of the Bible is so easily dismissed, why is the opposition so fervent about dismissing it? It’s like religious zealotry in its efforts.

That David and Goliath thing? David really used a Glock. Believe it or NOT!

So far, few of the comments have related to Danae’s efforts or to the reactions of her family/friends. But almost everybody has a comment or three about the Bible, religions, or the applications of its tenets. The end result? Nothing. Nada. No Changes except in languages used over the centuries. Tiresome.

Great. So now we have the old testament, the new testament and the modern de-testament.

Seems like Eddie would be qualified to rewrite any story involving whales. The insides of which, turn out to be a deluxe condo with a swimming pool

The OT was assembled around 600 BCE, the appendix about 600 years later. It’s safe to say that some things have changed since then.

Into the real realm of unreality.

There will come a time when you will regret the things you’ve said here. And Jesus was there in Genesis. He’s been there since the beginning. Father Son and Holy Spirit. He’s was there to die on the cross, and rise shine on the 3rd day for you because He loves you. But remember, He also gives you choice.

I think “fact-checking” and “Bible stories” are mutually inclusive. I feel sorry for people who do not know the difference between literature and a detailed guide for living your life. The Bible has a lot of good ideas; so did Trump. However, it is quite contradictory and has been translated differently over the centuries (Trump would just say he was joking).

Next up, the Quran, then onto Origin of the Species!

Considering the harm that Religion has caused throughout mankind’s history, what harm could come from Danae rewriting a few Bible verses, but then it is Danae?

If Aesop had a better PR person, we might all be following him……at least he called them fables.
