The kids are back! But it’s worse than we thought. Gil is living in a hotel.

Either this will wrap up the comic strip with Gil losing to Valley Tech and retiring … but the curve ball comes when the State Federation discovers Valley Tech played the whole season with ineligible players, turning the loss into a 2-0 forfeit victory for Gil, keeping the series going and going and going …

    Or …

The new creative team is taking a page from the ninth season of Dallas … only this time Gil wakes up and finds Marty Moon in the shower instead of Bobby Ewing.

Can’t wait for Gil’s answer on Monday. But I’m betting Mimi took the kids to see their Clover grandparents. Anyone else? And maybe I’ve been watching too many Perry Mason reruns recently, but could that pointed trophy become a murder weapon?

P-1: In Central City, Gil stays at the MCCormick Suites, because the Embassy was under siege by Anti-Water Terrorists.

P-2: Gil has totally recovered from his drunken spree and doesn’t remember Emmett was at the dinner last night.

P-4: (Gil) Man, it has been 64 years since you’ve been in Milford!

A quick search of the annual Time Out To Wish Everyone a Merry Christmas strips reveals that the last mention/appearance of the Thorp kids was on December 25, 2008. So, Thorp Kids Held Hostage: Day 5065!

P1- That waitress looks less for wear than Mo @Milford Diner. Happier too.

P2- Is that food coloring in their in E.T. & Gil’s grits? Luke and his bar mates must be sleeping in this morning.

P3- Tays surely heard about the legendary amazing sloppy joes since he mentioned Milford and runs.

So, this awards ceremony was out of town?? Hence the hotel stay. Then how is the young waitress in love with Gil? So many questions

I always thought the Valley Conference was much bigger than Milford, including crime-ridden Central City and smaller towns like Goshen, Oakwood, Madison, and Jefferson, and also that Valley Tech was not in Milford, not to mention the really dangerous Valley ! Modified. So running Milford would not be such a big deal while dominating the Valley would.

So based on the dialog the past couple of days, is Valley Tech located IN Milford? I always assumed Milford only had one high school and all these other conference teams were located elsewhere. I doubt the city of any of the schools were ever explicitly stated, except for Central City since that’s a favorite destination for when Milford kids need to get into trouble.

And speaking of destination, your next destination should be the website for Mopped Up Thorp.
