Pianos are never animated correctly. It sounds like she played something horribly dissonant, but she actually played something even more dissonant.

She’s trying to play the Unicorn song, you know it starts “Green alligators , and long necked geese, the humpty-backed camels and the chimpanzees” “The funniest of all was the Unicorns” Irish Rovers did it I believe!

I forgot they have a cat. Like entirely. I think they’v ebeen there a while but even having done a binge of the strip it’s hard to remember they exist. Awfully cute though.

That is a really sturdy piano.

I don’t think Zez Confrey had a unicorn in mind when he wrote “Kitten on the Keys” over a century ago.

Good thing Unicorn are really light. Otherwise Bye Piano.

Cats = unicorns: confirmed. Man, that piano is well-made.

You know I’m awfully confused about Marigold’s actual size because when standing next to the adults like Phoebe’s parents she is almost smallish horse height and there are other scenes which suggest she is average horse size and height, yet she can fit into the back of a Toyota Prius or at least that is what Phoebe’s family car is styled after, which by the way is a tight crunch in the back so she would have to be the size of a deer and even then she couldn’t probably fit.

But in this scene she is not the size or weight of a horse because a horse would break a piano and a deer couldn’t balance on it either.

So Marigold must have some kind of secret special magic that allows her to be big or small for different situations.

Also, quite clearly, it is how Marigold plays the piano.

Cats and unicorns seem to have a lot in common.

Yes, but is she any good?….

Marigold is light on her feet to not crush the keyboard.

How does a skipjack play a piano? You can’t tuna fish, but you can tune a piano.

Good thing unicorns have that anti-gravity thing going!
