I’ll never pay interest again. Bought a new phone last night, wanted me to finance and sign a 2 year contract. Got my own cheaper phone service, no contract, and no payments!
Truer words were never spoken. Was a time in the 1960’s when banks offered reproductions of artistic masterpieces on canvas with wood stretchers if one opened a savings account with $5. Interest rates were up to 6% and higher. Opened 2 accounts, and earned a fair amount toward the future over the next 10 years.
Well, that interest rate disappeared like fog in the desert, but the 2 paintings have weathered nearly 60 years in our family. They still look like a better deal than anything a bank can offer these days.
Come to think of it, supermarkets used to offer free china with each purchase. Now a US grocery chain has a added a department for stylish [their word] clothing and furniture, but nothing is free about it.
