That still would not guarantee that you and your luggage will both get home together on the return flight.

Assuming the airline hasn’t thrown it in the dumpster yet.

There used to be a store where the airlines shuttled ‘lost’ goodies to sell. Naturally it included all the best labels and merchandise. Wonder if it’s still there. Seems it was somewhere in the south.

There was one guy who asked the airline to deliver his lost luggage, they said just go to the airport and pick it up. He was in the US, his luggage was in London.

Maybe they could just buy a ticket home for their luggage.

I’ve had luggage with more air miles than I. Considering they have found their way back to me via a ground based service, they are proof miracles can happen.

so, if you just drive to your destination, your luggage will usually make it but without the things you forgot to pack…!

Invokes a great Henny Youngman joke:

When I was checking in for a recent flight, I told the agent “Send one of my bags to New York, one to Los Angeles and one to Miami.”

She said, “I’m sorry sir but we can’t do that!”

I told her, “Why not… you did it last week!”

A very long time ago the airlines flying into OAK, SFO and, SJC contracted out a service that would reunite the passengers with their lost luggage, IDK if they are still in business. A neighbour had their lost bags delivered to them within 24 hours of touchdown and had these recommendations: 1.) Put the address of your first hotel on a piece of paper and put copies of that in every bag you are bringing. Make a smaller copy for the luggage tags 2.)Pack your carry on with everything you will need to survive for 3 days without your bags. 3.)When going home replace papers from step 1 with paper with your home address. this was in the olden times before cell phones and the internet and stuff and there might be some other things out there that I have forgotten. 4.) Have fun. 5.) Lost luggage is another reason why I fly myself if I can.
