Is the hummus in the ridges part of the net weight or extra? It may be that they take that into consideration when reducing the amount of plastic used in the container. But he’d never think of that.

I never could abide mayonnaise. Aioli is just jumped-up mayonnaise. Hummus, OTOH, is nice. We had freshly made hummus at a restaurant a couple of years ago. We should get some food from there for takeout.

Somehow, I don’t find tuna hummus salad to be appealing.

If you can’t get all the mayonnaise, you have to buy another jar more frequently.

As for the hummus, tell Caulfield to throw chick peas into a blender himself.

Not making sense, Frazz; that is not an either-or proposition. One would not put hummus in potato salad, nor would a sane person put mayo on a pita chip.

Caulfield is unfamiliar with old-school mayo jars – which have not been made since prior to his advent; it does not follow that he doesn’t eat mayo. Stupid containers is the whole issue, here (though I will say, “squeezable” mustard is an abomination. “Convenience”? No – an excuse to water it down and sell the same amount of actual mustard as a greater volume than it really is).

In the Netherlands they have a flessenschraper (bottle scraper), works quite well on mayo type jars. … https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bottle_scraper

It means that by a small amount each time you need to buy more sooner than if you could get it all out!!!!

Mayonnaise is a fine condiment that makes healthy food like salad much more palatable for many people.

Don’t hummus and mayo fulfill different roles? I’d never use mayo to dip my veggies in* and I’d never put hummus on my cheeseburger.

*Unless mixed with some ranch powder or something.
