My spaniel LOVED to get into a basket of laundry right out of the dryer. I couldn’t turn my back on a clean warm load lest Sherwood nestle in. Sure, it’s cute, but then I have to wash the sheets or towels again.
Be honest: Who doesn’t love the feel of warm laundry fresh out of the dryer (GC friends with the space to hang your clothes, bless you, are in a category of your own)? Even better than dittos & Xeroxes hot off the presses.
Our cat burrows into the warm clothes in the basket and is carried upstairs, where the clothes are put away. They he jumps into the basket to be carried downstairs again. It’s a good workout.
My cat Spooky liked to ‘help’ with laundry. When I’d come upstairs with a load of clothes he’d jump up on the bed, waiting to be buried under the warm pile.

No matter how affectionate they might sometimes appear, house cats are only “slumming it” among us inferior humans. (—

If either of us had to get up in the night, our (late) Corgi would steal our “warm spot”. We figured she was just keeping it warm for us.

Winston Churchill famously defined Russia as “a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.”

One of our cats waits at the bathroom door while I shower until he can get inside to nest in the pile of dirty clothes.

The quote (minus the reference to a cat) is from Winston Churchill about the Soviet Union in 1939.

This might have been more funny, if I didn’t have to look up “enigmatic”.
