To help get into the halloween mood, I suggest LAURIE (Strange Things Happen) by Dickey Lee from 1965. It doesn’t get right-to-the-point, but it has a nice finish.
There was a sequel to The Monster Mash, it was The Monster Swim. Never as popular. But Clayton needs to expand his horizons, there is a lot of great music for the season out there, from Baroque and Romantic to jazz. Personally I like to listen to the variety of songs about the ghost of Anne Boleyn.
That’s where he needs to go into rock and metal. There are plenty of very good options for creepy, scary, or outright Halloween-themed songs.
In particular, you’ve got groups like Alice Cooper, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, KISS, Helloween (who actually did a 13-minute ode to Halloween), Accept, and Dio.
I have to admit, I’ve heard the monster mash a few times to many in my life, but if hear Grandma Got Runover by a Reindeer one more time, I think I’ll throw up.

Starting this Friday, Hallmark Channel begins its 24/7 “puke-a-thon” called “Countdown to Christmas”, which will last until 1/2/23!!
Makes Halloween seem paltry by comparison.

There are hundreds of Halloween songs. There are probably enough werewolf songs to play 24 hours straight without repeating any.

I’ve been sick of that song for a long time. When it comes on the radio, the radio goes off.

I recommend “In the Hall of the Mountain King.” Very Halloween.
