I am reminded of a quote from Doctor Who: “One good hope is worth a cartload of certainties.”
And yet we all know that hope is not a strategy.
But reality is a drag…
As long as there is advancement. Small as the increments be.
At first, I took Caulfield’s second statement not as “I hope to learn to fly” but as “I hope to learn in general.” Typical Mallett brevity.
The difference between wishing and hoping is that with wishing, you really know it’s not going to happen. With hoping, you will probably be disappointed.
Apply sufficient thrust, and a pig will fly. With or without wings.
Wishing, hoping, dreaming — forget all that. Analyze, plan, take the initiative and drive.
